Xakai Harry, from Kaysville, Utah, Wins Boys’ Long Jump at 2018 Simplot Games
Pocatello, Idaho – Xakai Harry, a senior from Kaysville, Utah, won the boys’ long jump at the 2018 Simplot Games with a mark of 23’.
He also placed third in the boys’ high jump with the mark 6’07”.
“I was just trying my hardest,” Harry said. “My legs were a little tired from the previous jumps, but as soon as my opponent jumped 23’ my adrenaline started pumping and I just jumped.”
More than 2,100 athletes will come from across the U.S., Canada, Australia, and New Zealand to participate in the 40th annual Simplot Games. Simplot Games remains the nation’s premier high school indoor track and field event. Sponsored by the J.R. Simplot Company since 1979, the Simplot Games are held at Idaho State University’s Holt Arena in Pocatello, Idaho.
