How to Get Here: The Simplot Games are held in Pocatello, Idaho at Holt Arena on the campus of Idaho State University. Teams arrive by car, bus, van and airplane. Air travelers can fly directly to the Pocatello Regional Airport (PIH) or may consider flying into the Salt Lake City International Airport (SLC) 150 miles south or the Idaho Falls Regional Airport (IDA) 50 miles north or the Boise Airport (BOI) 232 miles west and arrange for a car, van or shuttle bus.
Luggage Restrictions: Athletes should check luggage weight restrictions with the airlines. The option of shipping athletic gear by freight carrier may be cheaper than the airlines’ luggage fees. All shipped athletic gear must be sent to the hotel where the athletes will be staying – NOT Idaho State University or the Simplot Games offices. Prior arrangements must be made with each hotel. Pole-vaulters should be aware that the planes that fly into Pocatello cannot accommodate poles.
Shuttle Service to Pocatello: Salt Lake Express, a daily transportation service in the Intermountain West region, is a convenient way for air travelers to travel in and out of Pocatello on new, modern buses. For pricing and schedule information, log onto their website at www.saltlakeexpress.com to purchase your ticket or for team shuttle service.
