Wyoming Athletes Qualify to Finals at 2017 Simplot Games
Pocatello, Idaho – McCade Johnson from Laramie and Molly Olsen from Casper are among several Wyoming athletes to qualify to finals at the 2017 Simplot Games. Wyoming athletes have proven to be strong against international competition.
Here are the athletes from Wyoming to watch in the Simplot Games finals:
McCade Johnson, a senior from Laramie, qualified to finals in the boys’ 60-meter hurdles. Johnson had the second qualifying time at 8.41 seconds.
Laramie Tracc Club “A” qualified to finals in the boys’ 4×200 meter relays. The team
qualifed third with a time at 1:34.15.
Maddison Dedic, a junior from Casper, qualified to finals in the girls’ shot put.
Molly Olsen, a senior from Casper (pictured), qualified to finals in the girls’ 1600-meter race. Olsen had a fifth qualifying time at 5:14.76.
William Nolan, a senior from Cheyenne, qualified to finals in the boys’ 200 meters. Nolan qualified fourth with a time at 22.92. Nolan also qualified to finals in boys’ triple jump.
Lily Joslin, a senior from Cheyenne, qualified to finals in the girls’ pole vault.
Reid Baty, a senior from Laramie, qualified to finals in the boys’ high jump.
Leila Martinez, a junior from Evanston, qualified to finals in girls’ triple jump.
Maxwell Meyers, a junior from Sheridan, qualified to finals in the boys’ shot put.
Ryan Kienzle, a sophomore from Gillette, qualified to finals in the boys’ shot put.
Cody Track Club, from Cody, had the second qualifying time to finals in the girls’ 1600 sprint medley.

More than 2,200 athletes came from across the U.S., Canada, and Australia to participate in the 39th annual Simplot Games. Simplot Games remains the nation’s premier high school indoor track and field event. Sponsored by the J.R. Simplot Company since 1979, the Simplot Games are held at Idaho State University’s Holt Arena in Pocatello, Idaho.
