Wyoming Athletes Look to Shine at 2015 Simplot Games
Pocatello, Idaho – High school track and field athletes will gather in Pocatello this weekend to compete at the 37th annual Simplot Games. Several Wyoming athletes are competing to make their mark, and take home medals. Watch for these athletes to chase down their dream and represent their state:

  • Carlos Salcido, senior from Rock Springs, will compete in the 60-meter dash. Salcido is a 4A State Champion in the 100, 200, and 400 meters.

 

  • Brody Smith, junior from Cody, is the 2014-2015 Gatorade Wyoming Boys Cross Country Runner of the Year and also the 2014 3A Cross Country State Champion.

 

  • Maliya Crouch, senior from Rock Springs, placed first in the shot put at the Wyoming State Track and Field State Championships with a personal record of 49’9.25”. Last year she also placed first in shot put at seven invitational meets.

 
More than 2,000 athletes will come from across the U.S., Canada, Mexico and Australia to participate in the 37th annual Simplot Games. Simplot Games remains the nation’s premier high school indoor track and field event. Sponsored by the J.R. Simplot Company since 1979, the Simplot Games are held at Idaho State University’s Holt Arena in Pocatello, Idaho.
