Wyoming Athletes Earn Medals at 2016 Simplot Games
Pocatello, Idaho – Athletes from Wyoming fight to stay in the race at 2016 Simplot Games. Although every athlete gave it their all, there were some performance that stood out.
Wyoming teams had a strong showing in both the boys’ and girls’ 4×400-meter relay.
Campbell County High School boys relay team from Gillette rushed their competitors by taking first place in their relay. Those competitors included Laramie Tracc Club (4th) from Laramie and Kelly Walsh Indoor (5th) from Casper.
The Wyoming girls’ relay teams also showed up to compete this weekend. Casper Natrona ‘A’ (4th) from Casper and Campbell County High School (5th) both took home medals from the Games.
More than 2,100 athletes have come from across the U.S., Canada, and Australia to participate in the 38th annual Simplot Games. Simplot Games remains the nation’s premier high school indoor track and field event. Sponsored by the J.R. Simplot Company since 1979, the Simplot Games are held at Idaho State University’s Holt Arena in Pocatello, Idaho.
