Team Idaho of Boise Wins Girls’ 4×200-Meter All-Idaho Relay at 2018 Simplot Games

Pocatello, Idaho—Team Idaho of Boise won the girls’ 4×200-meter All-Idaho relay with a time of 1:46:78 at the 2018 Simplot Games.

The All-Idaho relay race consists of teams from Idaho and is designed to showcase the talent of Idaho athletes.

Team Idaho is made up of Brooke Weimer, a sophomore as the first leg, Dena Shaffstall-Lassos, a junior as the second leg, Leighton Stolworthy, a junior as the third leg, and Chloe Barylski, a junior as the anchor.

“We just really wanted to compete and see where’d we end up,” said Barylski.

Just before the competition, the team experienced some nerves, but focused when the race started.

“I was a lot more nervous in the beginning,” said Barylski, “but as soon as I got the baton, it all went away.”

More than 2,200 athletes will come from across the U.S., Canada, Australia, and New Zealand to participate in the 40th annual Simplot Games. Simplot Games remains the nation’s premier high school indoor track and field event. Sponsored by the J.R.
