Taylen Langin, from Boise, Wins Girls’ Pole Vault at 2016 Simplot Games

Pocatello, Idaho – Beating her personal record, Taylen Langin, a sophomore from Boise, won the girls’ pole vault with a height of 12’ 0” at the 2016 Simplot Games.

Langin said that as she prepared for her vaults, she kept thinking about the end goal and what she had to do to reach it. Langin was ecstatic to not only get the win but also her personal record.

“I am beyond happy with the win,” said Langin. “It was one of the happiest moments of my life.”

This is Langin’s first year at Simplot Games. With another two years ahead of her at Simplot Games, the sky could literally be the limit in 2017 and 2018.

More than 2,100 athletes have come from across the U.S., Canada, and Australia to participate in the 38th annual Simplot Games. Simplot Games remains the nation’s premier high school indoor track and field event. Sponsored by the J.R. Simplot Company since 1979, the Simplot Games are held at Idaho State University’s Holt Arena in Pocatello, Idaho.
