Pocatello, Idaho – Taylor Scholl, a senior from Kremmling, Colo., wins the girls’ 1600 meters at the 2015 Simplot Games with a time of 4:56.32.

The race was close through all eight laps around Holt Arena’s banked wooden track, with Scholl coming back in the last 15 meters to win.

“The last two laps of the race were crazy,” Scholl said. “It really was anyone’s race.”

Scholl clinched the win with a hard final kick.

“My fast training has paid off,” she said.

Scholl has competed for the last four years at Simplot Games, placing second her freshman year.

Scholl will attend the University of Colorado in the fall to run cross-country and track.
