Pocatello, Idaho – Sondre Guttormsen, a senior from Ski, Norway, competing out of Davis Calif., not only took first, but broke the 32-year-old meet record with his 17’08.5” vault.
“It’s always great to get a meet record, especially when it’s been standing for so long,” Guttormsen said.
After reaching his winning mark, Guttormsen decided to try for 18’02.5”, a Norwegian junior record.
“I was very happy about the competition overall,” Guttormsen said. “Even though I didn’t clear 18’02.5”, I’ve still got plenty of time.”
