Simplot Games Registration Now Open

Pocatello, Idaho – It’s that time a year again to register for the 2016 Simplot Games. The 38th annual event will be held February 18-20th, 2016 at Idaho State University’s Holt Arena.
The nation’s premier high school indoor track and field event is an excellent opportunity for high school athletes to compete against other athletes from all over North America, Mexico, Canada and Australia. Simplot Games is an open track meet, which means athletes do not need a qualifying time or distance to enter and compete. Everyone is welcome at the Games allowing high school athletes from all over the chance to compete.
Simplot Games is not only a great track and field event, but gives athletes other opportunities to have fun. These opportunities include a meet and greet with Olympic athletes, a dinner and dance, workshops for improving skills and much more.
As in past years, registration can be done online. All liability forms must also be filled out electronically at the time of registration.
Registration can be completed at www.simplotgames.com. It only takes a few minutes following these easy steps:

  • Create a username and password
  • Declare whether you are part of a team, or an individual athlete
  • Sign up for the events in which you are participating (athletes can participate in one running event, two field events, and two relays)
  • For teams: Once the coach sets up the team password and enters all the athletes into the system, the athletes can then go into the registration system to electronically sign their Participation Agreement and Release of Liability Form
  • For individuals: Sign the electronic Participation Agreement and Release of Liability Form (you will not be able to finalize your registration or pay your fees until this is completed)
  • Pay the fees (entry fees are $15 per athlete, plus $5 for each event, and a packet fee of $5 for each team or individual runner)
  • Wait for the confirmation e-mail.

The $5 packet fee can cover one individual athlete, or a team of 90 (or more) and includes your competition number; times, heats and lane assignments for your events; maps and other promotions. Individual runners are encouraged to form teams in order to save additional packet fees. Registration ends on Sunday, February 14, at 11:59 p.m. MST. No refunds will be made after February 11, 2016.
“Simplot Games is an extraordinary experience for everyone, by providing high school athletes from all over the world the opportunity to compete, improve and have fun,” said Lisa Woodland, Simplot Games executive director.
More than 2,000 athletes will come from across the U.S., Canada, Mexico and Australia to participate in the 38th annual Simplot Games. Simplot Games remains the nation’s premier high school indoor track and field event. Sponsored by the J.R. Simplot Company since 1979, the Simplot Games are held at Idaho State University’s Holt Arena in Pocatello, Idaho.
