Party like a Track Star at the After Dark Party
Dinner, workshops, games, and dancing
 
Pocatello, Idaho –The Simplot Games After Dark Party gives participating athletes the opportunity to meet each other, make new friends, and have fun. The After Dark Party will be held on Friday, Feb. 19, from 6 to 9:30 p.m., in the Pond Student Union Building at Idaho State University.
The event will start with dinner, featuring an Idaho baked potato bar and Simplot vegetables. Beginning at 6:30 p.m., athletes, parents, and coaches can choose from three workshops before the dance party begins at 7:30 p.m.

Track Academy
Dr. Warren Willey, a Board-certified Osteopathic physician, competitive bodybuilder, and author will present “Better than Steroids,” a closer look at the power of proper nutrition on athletic performance. A dynamic and popular speaker, Dr. Willey will discuss food as a drug, and provide strategies for athletes to find their optimal mix of diet and exercise. His presentation will be in the in the Pond Student Union Bengal Cafe on the main floor.

 

In the Spotlight
Steve Hooker is the first Australian man to hold the pole vault Olympic and world titles concurrently.  He was the first Australian field athlete to win Olympic gold in 60 years and the first Australian male track and field gold medalists since 1968. His story can be heard from 6:30 to 7:30 p.m. in the Wood River Room on the main floor of the Pond Student Union Building. There will also be an opportunity to ask questions at the end of the presentation.

 
Deal or No Deal
At this event, contestants compete in the Simplot Games version of the popular television game show. There will be great prizes. Deal or No Deal will take place in the main floor lobby of the Pond Student Union Building.
 
Dance Party
The evening’s activities will conclude with the dance party. This always fun and popular event, is a great opportunity for the athletes to meet, socialize, and dance. There will be a live DJ, an obstacle course, inflatable games, and lots of dancing.

Tickets for the After Dark Party are available in advance at www.simplotgames.com/store-2 or during the Games at the Simplot Games Store in Holt Arena. The ticket price of $15 includes dinner, choice of workshop, and the dance party.
More than 2,000 athletes will come from across the U.S., Canada, Mexico and Australia to participate in the 37th annual Simplot Games. Simplot Games remains the nation’s premier high school indoor track and field event. Sponsored by the J.R. Simplot Company since 1979, the Simplot Games are held at Idaho State University’s Holt Arena in Pocatello, Idaho.
