Galagher said her strategy to taking home the gold was to keep a strong pace and a clear distance from her competitors. Simplot Games has been a once in a lifetime experience for Galagher.
“Being at Simplot Games has been an amazing experience because I’ve never been to America or ran on an indoor track before,” said Galagher. “I have loved competing here because this type of atmosphere doesn’t exist in Australia.”
More than 2,100 athletes have come from across the U.S., Canada, and Australia to participate in the 38th annual Simplot Games. Simplot Games remains the nation’s premier high school indoor track and field event. Sponsored by the J.R. Simplot Company since 1979, the Simplot Games are held at Idaho State University’s Holt Arena in Pocatello, Idaho.
