Montana Athletes Look to Shine at the 2016 Simplot Games
Pocatello, Idaho–The 38th annual Simplot Games provides high school athletes with the opportunity to compete against over 2,000 athletes from all over the world, as well as rub shoulders with Olympians. This year, athletes from Montana look to shine in Idaho and take home the gold.
Keep an eye out for these three Montana stars at the 2016 Simplot Games:
Cleet Wrzesinski, a junior from Ennis, was the 2015 Montana State Class C Champion in the 110-meter high hurdles, 300-meter high hurdles and 200 meters. He finished 8th in the 60-meter hurdles at the 2015 Simplot Games, and is looking to place first this year.
Aidan Reed, a senior from Helena, was recently named the Gatorade Montana Boys Cross Country Runner of the Year for the second year in a row. He finished second at the 2015 Montana Class AA state meet behind fellow Simplot Games competitor Jake Perrin, and is looking for a win in the 3200 meters this year.
Perrin, a senior from Lakeside, was the 2015 Montana State Champion in the 1600 meters, and finished first at the 2015 Montana Class AA state meet. He will try to win a medal in the 3200 meters at Simplot Games and once again top Reed.
More than 2,000 athletes will come from across the U.S., Canada, Mexico and Australia to participate in the 38th annual Simplot Games. Simplot Games remains the nation’s premier high school indoor track and field event. Sponsored by the J.R.
