Isc International Empire Athletes of San Jose, Calif., wins 2015 Simplot Games girls’ 4×400 relay
Pocatello, Idaho – The Isc International Empire Athletes ‘B’ team of Kayla Richardson, junior, Anaya Alexander, senior, Mikeala Smith, senior, and Timarya Baynard, senior, from San Jose, Calif., won the girls’ 4×400 relay at the 2015 Simplot Games with a time of 3:52.55.
The team had never run together before this meet.
“It was kind of rough coming into the finals,” said Smith, because there were some last minute changes regarding who would be running. “But once we got focused, we felt strong.”
Baynard has competed at Simplot Games for the past four years.
“I’ve loved it every single year,” she said. “I’m really going to miss this place.”
The Isc International Empire Athletes ‘A’ team also medaled with a third place time of 4:04.02.
