International Athletes Qualify for Saturday Finals at 2015 Simplot Games
 
Pocatello, Idaho – Amelia Mazza-Downie and Celeste Mucci of Australia, along with Rachel Rosin of Canada, are some of this year’s leading qualifiers who represent visiting countries at the 2015 Simplot Games.
 
Mazza-Downie, a sophomore from Maribyrnong, Australia, qualified first in the girls 3200 meters with a time of 10:50.81.
 
Mucci, another sophomore from Maribyrnong, Australia, qualified in three events: long jump, high jump, and girls’ 60-meter hurdles, where she qualified with a time of 8.69 seconds.
 
Rosin, a senior from Saskatoon, Saskatchewan, qualified second for the girls’ 200 meters with a time of 25.13 seconds.
 
 
More than 2,000 athletes have come from across the U.S., Canada, Mexico and Australia to participate in the 37th annual Simplot Games. Simplot Games remains the nation’s premier high school indoor track and field event. Sponsored by the J.R. Simplot Company since 1979, the Simplot Games are held at Idaho State University’s Holt Arena in Pocatello, Idaho.
