Gold Medal Athletics from Lehi, Utah, Wins the Girls’ Sprint Medley Meter Relay at the 2019 Simplot Games

Pocatello, Idaho – Gold Medal Athletics from Lehi, Utah, wins the girls’ sprint medley relay at the 2019 Simplot Games with the time of 4:12.95.
Adi Nielson, sophomore, ran the 400-meter leg, Amy Ballard, senior, ran the first 200-meter leg, Emma Reeves, junior, ran the second 200-meter leg, and Jasie York, senior, ran the 800-meter leg. Friday’s qualifying race was the first time the group had ran together before.
“Our hand-offs were really good, and we PR’d by seven seconds,” said York.
 
More than 2,200 athletes will come from across the U.S., Canada, Australia, and New Zealand to participate in the 41st annual Simplot Games. Simplot Games remains the nation’s premier high school indoor track and field event. Sponsored by the J.R. Simplot Company since 1979, the Simplot Games are held at Idaho State University’s Holt Arena in Pocatello, Idaho.
