Calhoun fought off Logan Mckay, a senior from Layton, Utah, until the last 400 meters when he started to pull ahead. Calhoun said his goal for the race was to keep on the inside of the track, and set the pace that he was comfortable with.
“Logan challenged me and I knew I had to keep the inside of the track so that he didn’t pass me,” Calhoun said.
This is Calhoun’s third year at Simplot Games. He is currently looking at his options for college.
