Emily Etter of Reno, Nevada wins girls’ pole vault at 2015 Simplot Games Idaho’s Auby Barr finishes second Pocatello, Idaho – Emily Etter, a senior from Reno, Nevada, won the girls’ pole vault at 2015 Simplot Games with a height of 11’6”. Etter competes for Raise the Bar Track Club and this was her first time at Simplot Games.
“It’s been a long weekend and I’m actually looking at Idaho State University for school so there’s a little pressure,” Etter said. “But I knew what I was capable of so I just went out, relaxed, and attacked it.”
Auby Barr, sophomore from Nampa, Idaho, finished second. Although she also cleared the 11’6” mark, Etter had the edge by clearing most of her jumps on her first attempt, which determines the tie-breaker.
