Davis Track Club, of Layton, Utah, wins girls’ 4×400-meter relay at 2016 Simplot Games
 
Pocatello, Idaho – Davis Track Club ‘A’ of Layton, Utah, won the girls’ 4×400 relay with a time of 3:58.47 at the 2016 Simplot Games. The team made up of Brianna Gipson, senior, Ruby Jane Mathewson, junior, Ally Geisler, junior, and Melanie Sullivan, senior, said the Simplot Games has great competition.
 
“We love the energy here, it’s exciting,” said Gipson.
 
“We race for our team, it’s not just an accomplishment for ourselves but for our team,” said Geisler. “It makes me want to work harder, knowing all our hard work is paying off.”
 
More than 2,100 athletes have come from across the U.S., Canada, and Australia to participate in the 38th annual Simplot Games. Simplot Games remains the nation’s premier high school indoor track and field event. Sponsored by the J.R. Simplot Company since 1979, the Simplot Games are held at Idaho State University’s Holt Arena in Pocatello, Idaho.
