Davis Track Club of Kaysville, Utah, wins 2015 Simplot Games boys 4×800 relay
Pocatello, Idaho – The Davis Track Club ‘A’ team of Josh Ward, senior, Colter Blanchard, junior, Stokton Smith, senior, and Logan McKay, junior, from Kaysville, Utah, won the boys’ 4×800 relay at the 2015 Simplot Games with a time of 7:57.53.
The team, who has run together for over a year, repeated their win from last year. They improved their time by nearly 10 seconds.
“This race was super fun,” said Ward. “Our main goal is to always have fun with it.”
While two of the boys are graduating this year, McKay and Blanchard look forward to competing at Simplot Games again next year.
Davis Track Club, based in Kaysville, Utah, bring one of the biggest teams every year and this year was no different, with over 100 athletes competing.
Davis’ ‘B’ team also medaled with a sixth place time of 8:26.54.
More than 2,000 athletes have come from across the U.S., Canada, Mexico and Australia to participate in the 37th annual Simplot Games. Simplot Games remains the nation’s premier high school indoor track and field event. Sponsored by the J.R. Simplot Company since 1979, the Simplot Games are held at Idaho State University’s Holt Arena in Pocatello, Idaho.
