Pocatello, Idaho – Adrian Aguirre, a senior from Pittsburg, Calif., won the boys’ 60-meter hurdles at the 2017 Simplot Games.
Despite hitting the first two hurdles of the race, Aguirre finished with the fastest time at 8.17 seconds.

This was Aguirre’s first year competing at Simplot Games, and he will continue his track career at Northridge State University after graduating.
“I loved the enthusiasm and interest that everyone had for the Simplot Games,” he said.
