Zaria Francis, from Calif., wins the girls’ 60 meter dash at 2016 Simplot Games
 
Pocatello, Idaho – Zaria Francis from Camarillo, Calif., flew past athletes with a time of 7.36 seconds in the Girls’ 60 meter dash. Many of the girls were neck and neck, but confidence and good sleep helped Francis to win the Simplot Games 60 meter dash.

“I love the 60 meter dash, it’s my favorite part of the Games,” Francis said.
 
Kaysha Love, a senior, from Herriman, Utah, came in second with a time of 7.53 seconds. Amanda Van Buren, a senior, from Rancho Cucamonga, Calif., came in third with a time of 7.55 seconds.
 
More than 2,100 athletes have come from across the U.S., Canada, and Australia to participate in the 38th annual Simplot Games. Simplot Games remains the nation’s premier high school indoor track and field event. Sponsored by the J.R. Simplot Company since 1979, the Simplot Games are held at Idaho State University’s Holt Arena in Pocatello, Idaho.
