Pocatello, Idaho– After a day and a half of competition at the 2018 Simplot Games, Wyoming athletes have made their way to the front of the pack and will compete in the finals on Saturday.
Qualifying Wyoming Athletes to watch:
Aubrey Frentheway, a senior from Cheyenne, had the fastest qualifying time in the girls’ 3200-meter run with a time of 10:54.25. She will compete in the finals Saturday at 3:25 p.m.
The Cheyenne Central Indians 4×400-relay had the second fastest time in the preliminary heats with a time of 3:32.39. They will run on Saturday at 4:10 p.m.
Emmy Johnson, a sophomore from Laramie, had the second fastest qualifying time in the girls 800-meter run with a time of 2:20.03. Johnson will run in the finals on Saturday at 2:28 p.m.
The Rock Springs boys’ 1600 sprint medley relay team had the third fastest qualifying time in the preliminary heats and will compete in the finals Saturday at 12:58 p.m.
The Laramie Track Club girls’ 1600 sprint medley relay team had the second fastest qualifying time in the preliminary heats and will compete in the finals Saturday at 12:42 p.m.
Mackenzie Marler, a junior from Cheyenne, had the third fastest qualifying time took girls’ 1600-meter run with the time 5:01.97. She will run in the finals Saturday at 9:20 a.m.

More than 2,200 athletes will come from across the U.S., Canada, Australia, and New Zealand to participate in the 40th annual Simplot Games.
