Trey Knight of Vancouver, Wash. Wins Boys’ Shot Put at the 2019 Simplot Games
Pocatello, Idaho – Trey Knight, a junior from Vancouver, Wash., won the boys’ shot put with a mark of 60’6.25” at the 2019 Simplot Games.
“It feels great to be here,” Knight said. “It was a goal to come and win both the weight throw and shot put, and I did it. It was good competition.”
Knight set the meet record for the boys’ weight throw on Thursday with a mark of 86’7.5.”
“Simplot Games has been great,” Knight said. “The crowd has been so amazing.”
More than 2,200 athletes will come from across the U.S., Canada, Australia, and New Zealand to participate in the 41st annual Simplot Games. Simplot Games remains the nation’s premier high school indoor track and field event. Sponsored by the J.R. Simplot Company since 1979, the Simplot Games are held at Idaho State University’s Holt Arena in Pocatello, Idaho.
