New Image Training Group, of Los Angeles Wins the Boys 4×200-Meter Relay
at 2016 Simplot Games
Pocatello, Idaho – New Image Training Group, from Los Angeles, won the boys 4×200-meter relay at the 2016 Simplot Games with a time of 1:31.59.
The team consists of Andres Woodruff, 12th grade, who ran the leadoff leg; Renard Bell, 12, ran the second leg; Stefon Goudeau, 12 ran the third leg; and Ryan Hall, 12, ran the anchor leg.
Five minutes before the race their coach told them they were not running because Hall had an injury from a previous event.
“I didn’t want to let my team down, “said Hall. “I was in a lot of pain but I knew I needed to put the team on my shoulders.”
“Our goal was to beat the meet record,” said Woodruff. “We were still more than happy with first place though.”
New Image Training Group collected other medals, too, as Bell won the boys’ 200 meters with a time of  21.93 seconds, and Goudeau won the boys’ 400 meters with a time of 48.91 seconds.
