Montana athletes win medals at 2015 Simplot Games finals
 
 
Pocatello, Idaho – Montana athletes gathered in Pocatello, Idaho, this weekend to compete in the 37th annual Simplot Games. Athletes from across the U.S., along with Canada, Mexico, and Australia also competed for medals. Chase Smith, a senior from Helena, led Montana athletes with his first place win in the boys’ pole vault with a vault of 15’4”.
 
Top athletes who medaled from Montana include:

  • Makena Morley, a senior from Bigfork, placed second in the girls’ 3200 meters with a time of 10:41.94. Morley finished behind Amelia Mazza-Downie, a sophomore from Melbourne, Australia.
  • Bryn Morley, a freshman from Bigfork, placed second in the girls’ 1600 meters with a time of 5:11.07.

More than 2,000 athletes have come from across the U.S., Canada, Mexico and Australia to participate in the 37th annual Simplot Games. Simplot Games remains the nation’s premier high school indoor track and field event. Sponsored by the J.R. Simplot Company since 1979, the Simplot Games are held at Idaho State University’s Holt Arena in Pocatello, Idaho.
