Montana athletes qualify for 2015 Simplot Games finals
Makena Morley looks to break Simplot Games record tomorrow
 
Pocatello, Idaho – Bigfork’s Makena Morley led Montana athletes with a strong performance in the girls’ 3200 meters at the 37th annual Simplot Games in Pocatello, Idaho, with a time of 10:55.88.
 
Top athletes who qualified include:

  • Annie Hill, a freshman from Kalispell, got the fourth fastest qualifying time in the girls’ 1600 meters with 5:10.19. Hill had the fastest qualifying time for a freshman.

 

  • Morley’s siblings Bryn and Logan also qualified for finals tomorrow. Bryn in the girls’ 1600 meters with a time of 5:11.07 and Logan in the boys’ 1600 meters with a time of 4:34.02.

 
All events on Saturday are finals, with championship heats beginning at 12:15 p.m. at Holt Arena. A full list of Montana athletes who qualified is listed below.
 
More than 2,000 athletes have come from across the U.S., Canada, Mexico and Australia to participate in the 37th annual Simplot Games. Simplot Games remains the nation’s premier high school indoor track and field event. Sponsored by the J.R. Simplot Company since 1979, the Simplot Games are held at Idaho State University’s Holt Arena in Pocatello, Idaho.
