Marlena Preigh, from Broomfield Colo., Wins Girls’ 800-Meter Run at the 2018 Simplot Games
800-Meter Run Time is Her Personal Record
Pocatello, Idaho – Marlena Preigh, a junior from Broomfield, Colo., won the girl’s 800-meter run at the 2018 Simplot Games with a personal record time of 2:16.
“I just wanted to stay confident and stay in contact with the leaders so I could finish strong,” Preigh said.
In the upcoming outdoor season, Preigh hopes to beat her personal record in the 1600 and try the 3200.
More than 2,200 athletes will come from across the U.S., Canada, Australia and New Zealand to participate in the 40th annual Simplot Games. Simplot Games remains the nation’s premier high school indoor track and field event. Sponsored by the J.R. Simplot Company since 1979, the Simplot Games are held at Idaho State University’s Holt Arena in Pocatello, Idaho.
