Pocatello, Idaho – Josiah Carpenter, a senior from Lake Oswego, Ore., won the boys’ 200 meters at the 2017 Simplot Games with a time of 21.67. Dallin Draper, a junior from Lehi, Utah, came in second with a time of 22 seconds.
“It was indescribable to win,” said Carpenter. “It makes you feel like a million dollars. The amount of people here and the environment of Simplot Games is great, everyone here gets into it. It really is like the Olympic Games, a high school version.”
This is Carpenter’s first time at Simplot Games.
