Javan Lanier, of Aurora, Colo., Wins the Boys 60-Meter Dash at 2016 Simplot Games
Pocatello, Idaho – Javan Lanier, a senior from Aurora, Colo., won the boys 60-meter dash at the 2016 Simplot Games with a time of 6.81 seconds.

“This means so much to me,” said Lanier. “I was at Simplot Games last year and came in third so I’m excited to take it all this year. I have been focused on the finish line all day so when I crossed it I was ecstatic.”
Lanier’s 6.81 mark is a new personal best and ranks him sixth in the nation. Lanier plans to run in college but he is currently undecided.
More than 2,100 athletes have come from across the U.S., Canada, and Australia to participate in the 38th annual Simplot Games. Simplot Games remains the nation’s premier high school indoor track and field event. Sponsored by the J.R. Simplot Company since 1979, the Simplot Games are held at Idaho State University’s Holt Arena in Pocatello, Idaho.
