Pocatello, Idaho- Daniel Bruton, a senior from Rexburg, and Alex Lawerence, a senior from Kuna, took home first place medals and led the pack of 16 Idaho athletes who medaled at the 2014 Simplot Games. Bruton’s mark of 6’7 in the high jump and Lawerence’s mark of 14’6 in the pole vault gave them first place.
“Most people get really stressed out about Simplot Games track meet, but I am really calm about it,” Bruton smiled, “I come to just have fun.”

More than 1,900 athletes have come from across the U.S., Canada and Mexico to participate in the 36th annual Simplot Games—the nation’s premier high school indoor track and field event.
