Idaho Athletes Make Their Way into Saturdays Finals
Pocatello, Idaho – Concluding a day and a half of competition at the Simplot Games, Idaho athletes have represented their state, and some have competed their way into the finals on Saturday.
Here is a list of Idaho athletes who you will want to watch for in the finals on Saturday.
Caleb Hardy, a senior from Boise, took the number one spot in qualifiers for the boys 200-meter dash with a time of 22.55 seconds. He will compete in the final on Saturday at 2:21 p.m.
Coen Haroldsen, a senior from Idaho Falls, ran a 9:33.21, the fifth qualifying time in the boys 3200-meter run. He will run for the 3200 final at 3:40 p.m. on Saturday.
Britt Ipsen, a senior from Boise, looks to sweep the boys long jump, triple jump, high jump, and 60-meter hurdles. (lower photo)
Lexy Halladay, a freshman from Boise, looks to make her mark in the girls 1600-meter final at 1:55 p.m. on Saturday. She qualified third on Thursday with a time of 5:13.16. (top photo)
Randee Smith, Megan Nate, and Lita Forse, seniors from Rigby all were able to qualify for the girls shot put final at 12:30 p.m. on Saturday.
In the Boys 4×200 relay, Idaho Dash track club of Boise ran a 1:33.95, which landed them the second overall qualifying time. They will compete in the final on Saturday at 3 p.m.
Two local Pocatello athletes made it to the Saturday finals. Brock Snow, a junior, qualified for the boys triple jump final at 12:30p.m. Lindsey Jones and Vincent Kelemente both qualified for their events; Jones for girls pole vault final at 8:30 a.m., and Kelemente for boys shot put at 9 a.m.
On Saturday there will be two All Idaho Relays. The All Idaho Girls relay will be at 3:10 p.m., followed by the boys at 3:18 p.m. Teams in All Idaho relays are on list at bottom of release.
