Delaney Bahn of Bozeman, Montana Wins the Girls’ High Jump at the 2019 Simplot Games
Pocatello, Idaho– Delaney Bahn, a senior from Bozeman, Montana, won the girls’ high jump at the 2019 Simplot Games with the mark of 5’9”.
“I’m proud of how I did,” Bahn said. “I had to adjust my mark a bit, but after that I felt like I did pretty well.”
This was Bahn’s fourth time at Simplot Games and her first time winning her event. She is #10 in the country for high school girls’ high jump this year.
“As a freshman, I looked up to the older Australian girls that I competed with,” Bahn said. “I now know how it feels to be in their winning position.”
Emma Gates, a freshman out of Turner, Oregon, placed second with a mark of 5’5”.
More than 2,200 athletes will come from across the U.S., Canada, Australia, and New Zealand to participate in the 41stannual Simplot Games. Simplot Games remains the nation’s premier high school indoor track and field event. Sponsored by the J.R. Simplot Company since 1979, the Simplot Games are held at Idaho State University’s Holt Arena in Pocatello, Idaho.
