Pocatello, Idaho–The Davis Track Club, of Kaysville, Utah, wins the girls’ sprint medley relay at the 2015 Simplot Games. Jordan Barnett, a senior, Brittney Rounkles, a junior, Elise Berning, a senior, and Josey Hedquist, a senior, ran a 4:11.19 to get the first place medal.
“We had winning in mind and having fun,” said Rounkles.
The sprint medley is composed of two 200-meter legs, one 400-meter leg, and an 800-meter leg at the end. It was a close race between Davis Track Club and Isc International Empire Athletics of San Jose, Calif., and came down to a photo finish.
“It’s super fun to compete with not just people from out of state but also out of country,” added Berning. “Simplot Games brings a whole bunch of people together and you have amazing competition.”
