Cheyenne Central Girls 4×800 Relay Team Takes First At 2018 Simplot Games

Pocatello, Idaho—Cheyenne Central Indians took first place in the girls’ 4×800 meter relay at the 2018 Simplot Games with a time of 9:43.79.
The team is made up of Faith Meredith on the first leg, Tessa Martino on the second, Aubrey Frentheway on the third, and Emma Brownell as the anchor. All athletes are seniors.
“We felt good coming into this,” said Meredith. “Our coach told us we could get first, so we really used that to motivate us.”
All four of the runners have competed at Simplot Games before. After graduating, Frentheway will attend Brigham Young University to continue her athletic career, and Brownell will attend Utah State.
“We’re excited to be here at Simplot Games,” said Brownell. “It’s been really fun so far.”
More than 2,200 athletes will come from across the U.S., Canada, Australia, and New Zealand to participate in the 40th annual Simplot Games. Simplot Games remains the nation’s premier high school indoor track and field event. Sponsored by the J.R. Simplot Company since 1979, the Simplot Games are held at Idaho State University’s Holt Arena in Pocatello, Idaho.
