Pocatello, Idaho – The crowd got on their feet for Annie Hill, a junior from Kalispell, Mont., as she ran the last stretch of the girls’ 3200 meters to win at Simplot Games with a time at 10:44.21.
“I’ve been focusing on not results, but on what I can do in the moment,” said Hill. “It’s about making every second count and making the most of it.”
Hill will compete in the 3,200- and 5,000 meters at the Indoor Track and Field Nationals in New York later this season.
More than 2,200 athletes came from across the U.S., Canada, and Australia to participate in the 39th annual Simplot Games. Simplot Games remains the nation’s premier high school indoor track and field event. Sponsored by the J.R. Simplot Company since 1979, the Simplot Games are held at Idaho State University’s Holt Arena in Pocatello, Idaho.
