Byron Marshall wins boys’ 60 meters at 2012 Simplot Games 

Pocatello, Idaho – Byron Marshall, a San Jose high school senior with South Bay Express Track Team, won the boys’ 60-meter dash with a time of 6.85 seconds at the 2012 Simplot Games.

Byron heads to University of Oregon as a football running back next year, having signed a letter of intent on Feb. 1, 2012.

Marcus Harris Jr., a junior from Aurora, Colo., took second place with a time of 6.86.

Jaylyn Mars of Denver, Colo., was third at 6.99,

More than 1,800 athletes came from across the U.S. and Canada to participate in the 34th annual Simplot Games. Simplot Games remains the nation’s premier high school indoor track and field event. Sponsored by the J.R. Simplot Company since 1979, the Simplot Games are held at Idaho State University’s Holt Arena in Pocatello, Idaho.
